Neoprene Knee Sleeve
This neoprene knee brace provides warmth and compression to the knee, which can diminish swelling and promote healing. The compression knee sleeve also features an open popliteal and open patella (open in the kneecap and behind the knee) for added comfort and a better fit.
The neoprene material that makes up this knee sleeve makes the knee brace unique in that it is made of the same sort of waterproof material of which equipment for water sports and activities, such as fly fishing waders or scuba diving suits, are made. However, this neoprene knee brace has not been tested specifically for water resistance. Besides its ability to withstand water, neoprene is used for such aquatic activities because it insulates against cold and is buoyant. For more options see BraceAbility’s full line of neoprene knee braces.
If you do wear this knee sleeve when you are sweating profusely or exposed to water, it is important to allow the padded knee sleeve to dry out completely before using it again for swimming, rowing, sailing, waterskiing, wakeboarding or surfing, for example. Be sure to lay the neoprene athletic support out flat to dry.
Following are some injuries for which this knee sleeve with padding can help:
- Moderate knee strain
- Moderate knee sprain
- Athletic support
The sleeve itself is 13 inches long and the back and front of the knee are open, for additional comfort, fit and compression. The material that makes up this knee sleeve with neoprene is 3/16” thick, for compression and protection.
The padded knee brace is also free of latex, which is convenient for those with allergies to the material.
Neoprene Knee Brace for Injury Treatment
This neoprene sleeve is one of BraceAbility’s most popular knee supports as it holds up well to water, making it popular among watersports or any sport in which one might work up a sweat. For more sports-specific options, check out our full line of sports braces.
The warmth and compression the black compression sleeve provides can reduce swelling and encourage blood flow that speeds healing. The 3/16” inch-thick sleeve and anterior padding can also protect one from further or initial damage. Therefore, this neoprene knee orthotic is used both for injury recovery and as a preventive care measure.
The soft material of the neoprene compression sleeve for the knee is flexible, so one can wear it as an added layer of protection as one gets back to athletic activity. This added protection can also boost one’s confidence – an important component of bouncing back from a knee injury.
