Detailed Description

Adjustable Carpal Tunnel Wrist Support

This carpal tunnel brace helps to immobilize the wrist while still allowing the hand to move freely. Wearing this brace while suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome can help ease the pain and promote healing. The support brace has a strap that runs between the thumb and the index finger. This strap is the only restriction to the hand so the rest of the fingers are free of restriction.

This support brace is easily adjustable due to the three Velcro closures on the brace. You can adjust these straps to reach a desired level of compression. If the straps are too long, you can cut off the excess material.

The lycra material that this wrist brace is made of is breathable, padded, and durable which makes it very comfortable to wear. Another features that adds to the comfort of this brace is the contouring that is incorporated into this brace. There is maximum contouring at the palmar crease as well as some additional contouring by the pinky to allow spreading of the fingers.

The aluminum stay of this carpal tunnel brace provides additional support. If you want a more flexible fit, simply remove the stay from the brace.

This wrist and thumb brace extends up the arm for added support to the wrist and forearm. Sizes XS and S are 7" long and sizes M-XL are 8" long. This measurement includes the base of this brace, see image above for details.

Wrist Splint for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when you have numbness or weakness in your hand because of pressure on the median nerve. This median nerve runs from your hand all the way up to your forearm. When it reaches your wrist it runs through a small space called the carpal tunnel. The median nerve is what controls the movement in your thumb and first three fingers. The pressure on the median nerve usually results from swelling which causes the carpal tunnel to become smaller. There are many things that may cause this swelling, including: wrist injuries, inflammatory conditions (rheumatoid arthritis), diabetes, or repetitive movements of the hands.

Carpal tunnel syndrome can be very painful and cause numbness or weakness in the hand and a person may be experiencing this pain all the way up their arm. Surgery is an option if the symptoms are very severe. This wrist brace works great as a post-operative carpal tunnel wrist support, providing the immobilization that is needed after surgery is completed.

In addition to being worn daily, this wrist brace can also be worn as a night splint while you are sleeping. It helps to take the pressure off your median nerve throughout the night. View our other Carpal Tunnel Braces
